What happens when you visit our office?

1. Initial Consultation

On your first visit to our office you will be requested to provide a history of symptoms and past medical problems, as well as, a personal and family history. Next, a complete physical examination will be given. Each question and finding are very important. The endocrine glands, metabolism and nutrition affect all areas of the body and are affected by other medical problems, heredity, diet, life-style, exercise, family situation, occupation, hobbies and travel. If on the basis of this examination, we suspect you may have a glandular, metabolic or nutritional problem, we proceed to the next laboratory testing.

2. Testing

Laboratory and x-ray studies must be made to gather more information. These us confirm the presence of a condition and if present, the extent of the condition. Tests take time and may be expensive, but the tests are necessary to help us provide you with the appropriate medical treatment. The cost of these tests will be discussed with you before they are done and a plan of payment can be agreed upon if necessary.

3. Summary Conference

After laboratory and x-ray studies, which require considerable interpretation and review, your medical problem will be discussed with you. At this time you may wish for a member of your immediate family to be with you. Here the diagnosis and prognosis of your condition is discussed. If needed, prescriptions for medicine, diet and/or exercise will be given. If surgery or other medical consultations are indicated, you will be so advised and assisted in obtaining the best possible care for your particular problem.

4. Follow-Up

Subsequent follow-up visits are often necessary to permit you to report changes and to enable us to measure your progress and alter your regimen as indicated.
